Hi, I'm Ka'eo.

I'm a published poet and the author of Everything Is a Poem and Turbulence & Tenderness. My work has grown through years of paying attention, to people, to moments, and to the quiet things we don't always have words for.

Everything Is a Poem, my debut collection, received recognition through a literary award and found readers both online and in print. My second book, Turbulence & Tenderness, released more recently and carries that same attention toward the harder, more tender sides of being human.

Over 2,300 people follow my work on Instagram, which has always humbled me. It tells me there are a lot of people looking for words to meet them where they are.

Letters for Ordinary Days is my way of doing that more directly. Not a post. Not a notification. A letter, in your hands, that arrived because someone thought you deserved it.

The pop-up typewriter work started the same way: I wanted to be in the room, listening, writing something real for a real person in a real moment. That's what I do at weddings, events, and gatherings, and it never gets old.
